Social education campus
The Edith Stein Catholic School Centre for Social Professions (KSES) and the Catholic University of Applied Social Sciences Berlin (KHSB) form the social education campus in Berlin-Karlshorst.
The joint use of the listed building is intended to strengthen co-operation in training in the fields of social work, health, education and training (SAGE).
KSES - Two schools under one roof
The Edith Stein Catholic School Centre offers two state-recognised study options.
The vocational school for social pedagogy offers a three-year full-time or part-time study programme that prepares students to work as educators and lays the foundation for a professional future based on social responsibility and pedagogical commitment.
The vocational school for social assistance offers a two-year programme that trains state-certified social assistants.
There is also the opportunity to acquire the extended vocational training qualification (eBBR) or the secondary school leaving certificate (MSA).
The Edith Stein Catholic School Centre promotes young talents and enables them to enter the diverse world of social work. You can find more information on the website.
Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Berlin
With the move, the Archdiocese of Berlin, as joint sponsor, is pursuing the declared goal of strengthening the social sector in the long term, and KSES and KHSB are consolidating their role as central institutions in Berlin's social education sector. With the expanded campus, the sponsor is bundling educational expertise at one location and creating a learning environment that combines modern pedagogy, technical innovation and Christian values. At the Karlshorst campus, KSES students also benefit from the university's existing learning environment, such as the canteen and public library, and gain an insight into other (further) education programmes and study subjects.
