Diversity affects us all

Diversity affects us all

The KHSB is a university of diversity - open to all. For us, respect for diversity is fundamental to a lively, enriching and future-orientated learning environment. A sustainable diversity strategy forms the basis for an inclusive and innovative university culture. Our aim is to promote diversity in all areas and in all member groups and thus to create an open community that offers everyone equal opportunities and scope for development.

Diversity strategy working group

Since July 2023, a diversity strategy working group has been working together to develop an innovative strategy to make the KHSB a diverse place for all people. This process was (initially) completed in July 2025. The Academic Senate adopted the diversity strategy at its meeting on 16 July 2025.

The process of developing a diversity strategy was only the first step on the way to making our university more diverse. In the winter semester, a coordination and steering group will develop and propose measures for the further development of the university in the area of diversity based on the strategy and support its implementation. We look forward to travelling this path together with all of you - students and staff.

Collaboration in the working group

The working group was made up of committed employees from various status groups, chaired by the President (in an advisory capacity) and supported by an external process facilitator (compass orange). The members of the working group shared their knowledge and experiences in order to look to the future of the KHSB from an intersectional and holistic perspective.

To ensure that the adopted diversity strategy is filled with life, the coordination and steering group will ask all members of the university for their opinions and feedback. The opportunities for participation will be presented here soon - until then, please send your suggestions to the Office for Diversity, Equality and Family.
