Research strategy

Research strategy

The KHSB aims to strengthen research activities and capacities in the SAGE fields and to address relevant societal challenges using innovative research approaches. Our aim is to continuously safeguard and further develop the scientific quality and innovative strength of research in the field of SAGE.

Our research programme focuses on five strategic goals:

We support professors, academic staff and students in their research projects by providing them with the time, financial and infrastructural resources they need to successfully realise their research projects.

We actively support university members so that they can actively network nationally and internationally. We promote research alliances and academic networks. The KHSB's internationalisation strategy is being expanded with regard to research and transfer.

We offer support for young academics, starting with research-oriented qualifications in Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes. We support doctoral students in the planning and realisation of their projects and offer them comprehensive supervision.

We ensure the quality of research projects through targeted measures that meet the standards of the German Research Foundation (DFG). We promote the quantity of research contributions and further strengthen the research activities of the KHSB.

We transfer scientific findings into practice and aim to have a positive impact in social debates. Questions of sustainability are addressed as a research topic.
